Osteopathy

Wed 22 Feb 2023

Osteopathy is a form of complementary and alternative medicine that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal and other related disorders, by manipulating and strengthening the musculoskeletal framework of the body, particularly the spine. It is based on the principle that the body has an innate ability to heal itself, and that by restoring proper alignment and function to the musculoskeletal system, the body can maintain or regain optimal health.

Osteopathy uses various techniques, including joint mobilization, soft tissue manipulation, and muscle energy techniques, to treat a wide range of conditions, such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, and sports injuries, among others. It is also used to improve posture, circulation, and overall well-being.

The benefits of osteopathy include reduced pain and discomfort, improved mobility, flexibility, and range of motion, and enhanced overall physical function. Osteopathy can also help reduce stress and tension, improve sleep quality, and promote a sense of relaxation and well-being. At Anne Swart Clinic we have osteopathy consultations available.
